Construction is under way

Eli (my brother in law) started demo on the bathroom on Tuesday, so the remodel is really happening. As of this morning, it is totally stripped down to the studs and reconstruction can begin. Erik and I are excited, because it'll be SO nice to have a tub and another shower up here, especially one so close to our room and the nursery. Of course when we decided to "go for it" I had worked up a budget based on total "economy" (read super cheapy) finish-out, but Mr. Erik said no way, he couldn't make himself do it. Cheapy stuff just hurt him too much. So... a mere 50% increase in our budget later, I have something he is happy with.... I know, I shoulda known better, but being a dumbass i didn't see it coming. Oh well, we're commited now. Anyway, it'll be really nice when it's done, even though it's now going to take longer and cost more, but hey, it wouldn't be construction if those 2 things didn't happen!!

As of today, I am about 35 1/2 weeks along, so in theory 4+ weeks away from having a baby. I have been discussing the situation with our son, and gently requesting that he stay cozy in my belly for at least a few more weeks, just to help his mom out. In the mean time, Eli and the rest of my crew will plug away on the rebuilding process, and we'll see what happens!

Here's some pictures for you to track our progress....

This is one of the tiles we will be using in the bath, 1x1" mosaics for our backsplash. This site is also great for viewing many of the different types of stone out there.
